Fiji is known for its friendly Fijian people and their unique culture. Here’s some ways you can experince the
Fijian culture through village tour cycling.
Lovo
Lovo is a traditional cooking method where women prepare the food and men tend to the fire and cooking.
using hot stones in an underground pit to covere Meat, fish and root crops for few hours. Many resorts and all
Fijian village include this metthod of cooking for speacial occassions.
Meke (traditional dancing)
Meke is a traditional dance perfomed by Fijian villagers to tell stories through songs and dance. Dancing while
using some traditional war clubs, fans and spears to demonstrate their stories. Now days, it has become a
profession for most Fijian in the tourism industries at its perfomed atleast once a week – not to be missed.
Kava
Kava is consumed both socially and ceremonially in Fiji. This Fijian drink is serevd in a Tanoa (bowl) and
distributed amongs every chief and guest presence. it is polite to sit on the Ibe (mat) spread on the floor to
greet your host and clap once before and 3 times after you drink.
